Mumbai, you call it ‘The City of Seven Islands’ or the ‘Hollywood of India’, is India’s second most-trotted city in India, after Delhi. Every day, millions of people from around the world, seek excuses to visit this city. This is quite evident from the flight and the train booking to and from the city. There are flights, not just from the big, metropolitan cities of India, but also the nearby ones, with the most booked being, the Nagpur to Mumbai, or the Mumbai to Nagpur flights.

The Marine Drive (previously named, Netaji Subhash Chandra Marg), famed by the name ‘The Queen’s Necklace’, lies in the heart of Mumbai. What gives it this unique name is the fact that it is built in a C-shape and resembles the same of a huge necklace. During night, with beautiful street lamps adorned along its boundary, and the lights of the Mumbai’s traffic, it embezzles gorgeously, just like a prestigious diamond necklace of a queen. Running at a length of 3 km, the Marine Drive is nestled with palm trees along its end. The long road connects the ends of the famous Nariman Point and the Babulnath and Malabar Hill. At the lower end of the road is Walkeshwar, a posh neighbourhood of the city and also the resident of the Governor of Maharashtra.

The scenic beauty of the walkway is breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. It remains flooded with joggers and morning walkers during the morning. People also gather here to play various sports like volleyball and football. It is an excellent place to wander around to catch some relaxing moments, which offer a great respite from the rush of the city life. You can spend quality time here, with a cool breeze running across your faces. It is a favourite spot for the lovers too.

Marine Drive is also a hotspot for various events hosted here. Bombay Marathon, French Festival, International Fleet Review and IAF Air Show are some of them.

It is also a popular site for shooting movies and daily soap operas, and you might catch one if you happen to visit here.
